Dr. Norwin A. Detalla earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Cebu Institute of Medicine in Cebu City, Philippines, in 2006. After successfully passing the Physicians’ Licensure Examination in August 2007, he pursued residency training in Ophthalmology at the Department of Ophthalmology of Cebu (Velez) General Hospital. He later served as Chief Resident from 2009 to 2012, demonstrating leadership and clinical excellence throughout his training.

Dr. Detalla is currently a Senior Ophthalmologist at Zamboanga Eye Center, recognized as a premier eye care provider in the Zamboanga Peninsula and Western Mindanao. He also serves as a Visiting Consultant at Ciudad Medical Zamboanga—the only hospital in Zamboanga City to receive the prestigious Philippine Quality Award—and at Zamboanga Peninsula Medical Center, Inc.

​In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Detalla is actively involved in medical education as an Associate Professor of the Western Mindanao State University College of Medicine, where he contributes to the training and mentorship of future physicians, particularly in the field of Anatomy and Basic Medical Sciences.
