Dr. Norwin A. Detalla obtained his Medical Degree at Cebu Institute of Medicine in Cebu City, Philippines in 2006. Six months after passing the Physicians' Licensure Examinations in August 2007, he underwent residency training in Ophthalmology at the Department of Ophthalmology of Cebu (Velez) General Hospital and served as its chief resident from 2009 to 2012. 

He is currently an Associate Ophthalmologist at Zamboanga Eye Center - the Premier Eye Care Provider of Zamboanga Peninsula/Western Mindanao, Philippines and as Visiting Consultant both at Ciudad Medical Zamboanga - the only recipient of Philippine Quality Award in Zamboanga City, and Zamboanga Peninsula Medical Center, Inc.
